[He straightens when she walks out, smirking up at her from behind his shades. Damian doesn't bother to open the door for her (because obviously that is what the doorman is for) but he does step back to allow her to get in first before following after. The door is shut behind him and he presses a button that brings up the sound proof divider between them and the driver to offer them privacy. He quickly slides the sunglasses off and into a case, turning to her once the car begins moving.]
[ The cushions are soft. That's the first thing she notices. The second is the driver's cologne, and the smell of English leather freshener in the car. It's her second choice after the scent of polished steel. ]
Pretty okay. Thanks for the dress. Where are we going?
Dinner. Our mark has reservations at Le Bernardin's at eight, ours are at seven forty-five. His name is Gavril Atanasov-[Here he pulls a folder from a briefcase sitting at his feet and hands it to her, Atanasov's profile]-and he is the up and coming protege of the current leader of the Bulgarian mob, expected to be announced heir apparent in the next few months when Ivan Borev inevitably steps down due to his failing health condition.
Atanasov has begun moving product into Gotham along with a number of other cities with high crime rates, New York city included. His methods for moving product have been difficult to determine and tonight he will be meeting with Borev along with several other high ranking members, a meeting that my sources have informed me will be largely about increasing distribution.
The reservation for dinner is with his wife, the meeting will take place after. Our job at dinner is to plant a bug on Atanasov. He will of course be highly guarded. [In all honesty it's a fairly simple job. Plant the bug and then listen in later during the meeting from a distance. With Atanasov avoiding Gotham for fairly predictable reasons, the trip to New York had been unavoidable. The Dinner however, doesn't seem to have been strictly necessary. Not that Damian does anything to draw attention to that fact.]
[ Rose nods along to show she's listening, as she reads. It seems pretty run of the mill, and that feels like — grandpa old. How long is long enough to know how the story goes, and where it ends? ]
[ She closes the folder, and hands it back. ]
So, dinner with my best friend is just a perk, huh?
[Damian lifts his chin, smirking and trying not to beam at her use of the 'best friend' title. No one has ever called him that before and it fills him with an inexplicable warmth.]
It seemed an adequate opportunity to accomplish the task without creating suspicion. [That is Bat Speak for 'yes.']
