B Movie Meme

You and yours are noticing how suspiciously familiar this whole setting is. Surprise! You're in a B-Movie. And guess who's the star? Ding-ding. Well, saddle up, grab a knife, run up the stairs - whatever it takes to survive to the end credits.
1 - "Hail to the King, baby": Welcome to being sucked into an alternate dimension with castles and demons and books that try to eat your face off. But that's okay, you've got a shotgun and a chainsaw, right? This... is your BOOMSTICK. Shop Smart. Shop S-Mart.
2 - "I'm gonna need a bigger can of Raid": Spiders, preying mantises, cockroaches, ants... whatever it is that has more than four legs, it's now supersized and about to attempt to move up the food chain. You gonna take that sitting down?
3 - "But the sign says don't feed the animals!": Mother nature is pissed, and she's got the critters of the land riled up and coming after you. Whether it's snakes in a plane, rats being directed by a scrawny bastard with satchels, or genetically altered bats/sharks/sharktopuses, they all want a piece of the OTHER other white meat.
4 - "I vant to suck your bloooood": Some creepy ass mofo in a cape with bad dental work is giving you the eye. Big eyes. With some kind of unibrow shit going on that needs to be trimmed. Plucking isn't just for woman, buddy. Grab a chair leg, or hell, a pencil, and tell him that no means no.
5 - "Maybe you should have taken a left at Uranus": Yep. You guessed it. Space aliens. Weird little green men with big heads and eyes the size of footballs. What's that in their hand? Is that... is that a probe? Oh god, run. RUN!
6 - "The curse of... that thing with the curse on it": Whether you've come afoul of a witch's curse, or you've taken something from somewhere you shouldn't have, you're cursed. Things are dropping on you, that black cat keeps crossing your path, things break just as you touch them. What else can go wrong?
7 - "Braaaaaaaaains": What's a b-movie meme without the obligatory zombies? Whether it's the Dawn of the Dead shambling ones, or the 28 Days Later running freaks of nature that have magically learned how to do parkour, you've got to deal with them. Grab a cricket-bat and your least favorite record and have at it.
8 - "Input. Does not compute. Error. Error": Robots gone wild, weee! Well, as wild as a robot can get. But when you take into consideration that they're no longer listening to you, and have decided that you're a parasitic virus on the face of the earth, you might have to try to give it the ol' reboot. IF you can reach the button...
9 - "There's something touching my leg": Yeah, we've done evil animals, but this is specifically for the 'wtf are you still doing in the water, you goddamn idiot' scenarios. Be it huge crocs, giant anacondas, flesh eating piranhas, there's something in that murky water that wants to get a little more up close and personal with you. Say hi to Cthulu.
10 - "She blinded me with SCIENCE": You should really be more careful with your components. Your experiment has gone awry, either blending you or someone else with some poor critter you had, or some type of virus that's changing them in ways that are VERY NOT GOOD. Now's not the time to remember you didn't fully lock the restraints...
11 - "DRAGONS!": Because dragons deserve a category of their own. Seriously. Motherfucking DRAGONS, yo. And they think you look mighty tasty. And small. And puny. And helpless. Get the goddamn army to show them just how not helpless you are, or die trying.
12 - "Let's do the timewarp again": Either the tagger or the taggee is from the future or the past, coming with a message. Or just a desire to fuck shit up. Go back and kill Hilter, you say? But... I want to go into the future and fly my car around.
13 - "REET REET REET REET REET": Can we say pyscho? Or Mike Meyers? Or Krueger? Or Jason? However you want to say it, there's a crazy guy with a knife/chainsaw/sickle and you're the only thing on their mind. Can you and your tagging partner evade them? Or is your tagging partner the one after you?
14 - "Devil with the blue dress on": Something wicked this way comes. Its favorite numbers are 666, and it likes to drink blood on a moonlit beach. You've woken it somehow, or it was the prophesized time for them to come and claim what's theirs. Namely, you.
15 - "Tremors": Look. If you know tremors, than I don't have to explain this. Just give me graboids and explosions and extensive games of "The ground is lava."
16 - "Wildcard": Don't see what you feel like playing on here? Make it up and go your own way, compadre.
Relationship ideas:
1 Comrade in arms: You and the tagger are in this together. Until the bitter, bitter, bitter end.
2 Enemies: You're tagging in as the antagonist in this little scenario.
3 Unwillingly dragged into this: You were just walking along, minding your own business, when BAM. Now you're in the middle of this mega-crap.
4 Consulting Expert: You're the expert that they're coming to for answers. You got any? HUH?
5 Wildcard: Come up with your own relationship.
[[From Memebells circa 2012 or something ridiculous like that]]
unintentionally he tries to be I suppose. all that demon energy~
You better not.
[ He sharply replies as he unloads all his gear on the table next to them. He patted his shoulders and arms a bit since carrying Wei Wu Xian and his gear was added weight. ]
I asked them to send up food while you were requesting for the bath. They should be bringing it in soon.
[ He doesn't answer the second question since really, when did he become Jin Ling's mother asking about every little thing? That and even Jin Ling doesn't know how to answer this amount of care and affection. He's not arguing because he needs to get washed up among other things. He feels extremely gross and disturbing to even be walking around with this much good in his hair and clothes. He'll need to probably wash his clothes too. ]
no subject
When he opens his eyes again it's a surprisingly difficult task and he sits up with a groan, beginning to peel off his wrist guards before leaning over to remove his boots. It's a painful process to lean that far over, but there's no way he's letting Jin Ling get all fussy and come over to do it himself. The boy had to leave him some dignity at least.
By the time he's done shedding what he can, both the food and bath water have been brought, and he motions to Jin Ling to start with his bath.]
Neither of us are eating before we've bathed and they'll have to change it out between. Bathe then eat. I'll take it after you. I want to sit here for a bit anyway. [It isn't a lie, the thought of getting up and hauling himself into the tub is one that's just a bit too intimidating at the moment. He'll take a breather first.]
no subject
[ In all honesty, he probably wouldn't attempt undress Wei Wu Xian, the way he had once done to Jin Ling. He's not as bold at Wei Wu Xian and he sure as hell knows that there's definitely some dignity that needs to be reserved. After all, he's probably tortured the other enough times today. He just gives him a once over and continues to relax himself and takes most of the outer layers of his clothes. He frowns staring at them being utterly contaminated with spider guts. He gives a frustrated grunt before Tossing it in the pile of his arm guards, shin guards and belt.
All the while he was doing all of this, he did give Wei Wu Xian a few glances to make sure he's not going to hurt himself or fall over. At least, he seems to behaving. ]
I got it. [ he sighs. ] Focus on yourself for once and stop acting like you're my guardian. [ This sort of attention to detail is still uncomfortable for Jin Ling. He's not used to people fussing about little things like taking a bath or eating. Jiang Cheng only really got extra worried and mad if he got hurt than anything. There's a chance he may have to walk the other over to the tub later. He doesn't trust Wei Wu Xian not falling at the attempt to swing himself over to get in. He's not volunteering to do beyond that. ]
[ He doesn't intend to eat like this either. It seemed like it'd be bad manners to eat the way they both looked, covered in basically the gunk from their travels. He still has the under layers of his clothes on as he gathers the rest of his discarded clothes towards the bath tub that has been drawn. Thankfully, there's a screen between the tub of water and the rest of the room for privacy.
Jin Ling will quickly scrub as much as he can of everything with the drawn bath water. He made sure to also clean his hair and face. He's used to getting dirty but this is a new definition of getting down and dirty. He honestly prays they will not meet anything like those things again. He manages to at least somewhat clean some of the same gunk off his clothes too that he had taken off. ]
no subject
He lets a crooked smile slip onto his lips, laughing lightly under his breath.]
Yeah, of course I'm not. [As if he had any right to the title. That's not what Jin Ling means and Wei Wuxian is aware enough to know that, but it doesn't mean it's not true. For as much as he cared for the boy and as much as he knows that Jin Ling does have some kind of soft spot buried deep within for him, he also knows with absolute certainty that he doesn't deserve it. He would never deserve Jin Ling's affection or good will and it was the sheer depth of Jin Ling's ability to forgive that allowed him even this level of closeness.
To think that he could ever think himself one of Jin Ling's guardians is as laughable as it is sad.
But that was all the more reason to look after him, even if he could expect nothing in return. He owed it to Shijie. He owed it to Jin Zixuan. He owed them so much more than he could ever pay. The least he could do was look out for their son in whatever ways he could. While these thoughts consume his mind, he's vaguely aware of Jin Ling pulling up the private screen and getting into the bath. It takes a while, understandably given his state, and by the time Jin Ling is out, Wei Wuxian is sitting on the bed leaning against the wall, eyes closed as he struggles to remain awake.]
no subject
He didn't know how to respond and didn't realize he said something hurtful. If Wei Wu Xian would at least say something to him, he'd at least try to understand the situation better.
There's a brow raise from him before he vanished to clean, not sure how to take the way the other replied to him. It didn't seem right. Something felt off but he knew he wasn't going to get a straight answer from him anytime soon. It was aggravating to deal with this the entire trip. It seems like both of their moods kept shifting.
He's too tired to have another argument with him so he leaves it at that. However, despite how Wei Wu Xian feels about the situation, Jin Ling is mature enough to understand that mistakes happen and even if Wei Wu Xian has a hand in all of the things that happened to him, it's not all his fault. Seriously, what sort of self depreciating human being is he?! Ugh. Sometimes a good bath really does help someone think and clear their minds and maybe he might have recall the way he phrased his words. Perhaps, they came off a little to mean. Honestly! Why was talking with people like him so hard? Most people just get angry at him and retort. Except, here's his other supposed uncle, taking whatever crap he says and just rolls with it. At least refute it.
He approaches Wei Wu Xian again, while pulling his hair back in a pony tail. As he got closer, he notices that the other still looks quite feverish and sick. So much for focusing on taking care of himself. ]
Hey, it's your turn. [ He calls to him, his tone considerably less sharp as it was before. ] You sure you're okay? You still look feverish.
[ Maybe he should boil that medication now. ]
no subject
Just tired. I'm sure the medicine they gave you will do its job.
[Unlike before, he doesn't seem to be putting up a front. He is still a little feverish and his leg aches, but it's nothing like earlier. The residual effects are pretty much what's to be expected. Given the severity of the venom and the injury, it'll probably take a couple of days before he's really feeling back to normal, especially with his low cultivation. He stands then, starts to take a step and then pauses. He doesn't need the help, but he's going to limp and Jin Ling is going to get huffy and he's too tired to deal with that.]
Be a good child and help me walk over? [His teasing grin doesn't entirely cover the exhaustion in his eyes but he does his best.]
no subject
[ Obviously, because he's not as bad as he paints himself to be. So what if he's the Yiling Patriarch? A lot of things have been made clear to him. It made no sense for him to continue to resent Wei Wu Xian for these things. All of this won't bring his mother or his father back from the dead. If anything, it will probably make them sadder knowing that he keeps beating himself up for it.
Jin Ling does't know his parents personally, but he can't imagine either of them holding a grudge against Wei Wu Xian. He only heard stories, but he wants to at least believe that. Of course, it's too much for him to say all of this to someone he's barely had a relationship with. Perhaps, when he feels less shy about talking to him, he'd be more honest with what he feels. ]
I'll boil some more for you while you bathe. The healer said you had to take them every few hours to ensure that all of the venom can be completely purged from your system.
[ He replies to him at the comment. He looks absolutely awful if awful can even describe Wei Wu Xian's state right now. He looks almost-- pitiful to some extent. At the very least, he's not fighting to ask for help. Jin Ling would like to think he won the battle for the time being. ]
Oh? I thought you were going to tell me you'd be fine walking over there.
[ He replied albeit sarcastic but, nonetheless already extending him a hand. ]
Just don't fall into the tub face first.
[ He also did his due diligence and changed out the water afterwards too while the other was in a daze. ]
no subject
Wei Wuxian remembers that after one of his first meetings with Jin Ling he had been convinced the boy had gotten all of his father's and uncle's worst qualities and nothing of his mother. He's happy to admit that he had been wrong. Shijie is definitely in there, much as Jin Ling tries to hide that compassion away.]
Yeah, yeah, you know I'm not a complete invalid, right? [Even if he kind of feels like it right now. With one last snort, he allows Jin Ling to guide him to the freshly changed bath and then steps away to hold onto the edge of the tub. Once Jin Ling has gone (because he is absolutely refusing help beyond this point) he carefully disrobes and climbs into the water. It's a bit of a pain, but the water feels amazing on his much abused body and he can't help the long sigh of contentment he lets out.
It takes him a while to scrub the grime away partially because of his limitations and partially because there is just so much grime but eventually he feels clean enough to be a functional person again and he exits carefully, changing into the borrowed inn robe. He doesn't call Jin Ling over to help him back, instead pushing back the privacy screen and making his way over to the table where their food is laid out all by himself. Sitting down proves to be an adventure and he will definitely end up needing help standing back up, but that's a problem for future Wei Wuxian and he's not going to think about it.]
Look, I didn't even drown or anything.
no subject
I don't remember saying you were invalid. [ He shrugged as he guides Wei Wu Xian over to the freshly changed bath area and yes, he leaves as soon as he's sure Wei Wu Xian isn't going to drown in his bath water. Instead, he spends that time burrowing the pot to boil medicine for the other and tidy himself up a little bit more. In fact, at some point Wei Wu Xian seems to be really soaking it up in there, he's carefully cleaning Sui Hua. It was infuriating that those things dirtied his father's sword.
Jin Ling only looks up when he notices the the other is back and the table is set for their evening meal. He quickly finishes up polishing the blade the best he can before sheathing it again. He'll have to spend some time doing that later. He doesn't touch anything yet, and goes over to pout the murky contents of the herbal medication into a small bowl and walks it back over to Wei Wu Xian, after he blows out the fire.
He can totally see that the other is definitely struggling to some extent. ]
It would be embarrassing if you actually did.
[ He pushes the bowl of medication over to Wei Wu Xian. ]
You should probably take that before we eat.
no subject
As predicted, the taste is awful and he wastes no time making a face as soon as he's finished it, eyes squeezed shut and teeth clenched together.]
Ugh. Remind me to never get poisoned ever again. [Because the medicine for it is disgusting. Also because the whole almost dying thing kind of sucked. Thankfully there's food that can hopefully wash away the taste and he reaches over and begins to serve his own plate.]
no subject
He doesn't want to have a repeat of that Fairy incident a few hours ago now does he? He knows, it's probably really disgusting. Jin Ling isn't fond of those kinds of medicine either, since they have always a strong and problematic smell. ]
Why do I feel like-- even if I said that, you'd get poisoned again anyway?
[ he replied back with a dead pan look for Wei Wu Xian once her finishes the bowl of medicine. Since they are starting their meals, Jin Ling reaches for the tea pot and subconsciously fills both of their cups with warm tea. He assumes they both might need it given how the entire day has treated them.
Once Wei Wu Xian begins serving himself, Jin Ling does the same, nibbling into some pork and rice. ]
no subject
Instead of saying anything, he smiles contently to himself, snorting at the accusation and shaking his head.]
I will not. [He definitely will. His life is a cosmic joke.]
Ah, who knew today would end up being such an adventure. We'll have to find someone who can go deal with those spiders though. Wouldn't want to leave them for unsuspecting passerby's. I'll write Lan Zhan tonight, he'll make sure it gets taken care of quickly.
[In most situations he'd want to handle it himself, but he knows when they need numbers.]
Are you headed back to Lanling after this or nighthunting for a while longer?
no subject
[ Jin Ling is busy eating his meal to notice the dumb look on Wei Wu Xian's face for the most part. If he had seen it, he was sure to react immediately in a flustered mess. However, it's been a long day and he's finding his meal more appealing to him than the issues that may have arisen from his random subconscious gesture.
It seems a bit casual on his part, so he doesn't see any big deal to it. If Wei Wu Xian makes some joke or something, he will definitely figure it out. ]
Are you going to keep saying that until you start believing it yourself?
[ He raised a brow from the corner of his eyes at the statement. ]
Adventure? More like a huge inconvenience.
[ He muttered. ]
Huanguang Jun seems to be the most viable individual to take care of it, however, aren't you being a bit too much? Even if he can handle it on his own, there's probably nearby sects or other cultivators we can ask to help with the clean up. I know there are disciples of our sect that are interested in some bloodshed.
[ Jin Ling doesn't fully disagree with him but it makes more sense to get more people involved. Neither of them know how many there are or even where its nest is. It might be better to do things in groups than relying on person. Not that he doesn't believe Lan Wang Ji isn't able to do it. He just thinks it's unfair to just put all responsibility on him or the Gusu Lan Sect.
Though, he wouldn't be opposed to doing some investigation with Si Zhui and Jing Yi. ]
I should probably head back to Lanling, given it's not a good idea for their sect leader to be out too long but they were fussing so much that I had to leave in the first place.
[ He muses, sipping his tea. Ever since Jin Guang Yao's death, Jin Ling was forced with the responsibility of the entire sect. (Not that he hates it.)It's just overwhelming for a teenage boy to have to listen to a bunch of adults either argue or discuss things that can possibly handled in much better ways. It's gotten better since he's taken its reign but it's still messy. He doesn't want to rely on others for handling some of the situation but it's not an easy task. There are some idiots in the sect that want to take his position from him. As if he'd let the, though.
He assumes that Wei Wu Xian will probably meet up with Lan Wang Ji at some point if he's going to send the letter. He doesn't really ask since it's none of his business. Though, the food is definitely tasting a lot better after a long day of running around. ]
no subject
Ah, you misunderstand. It's only that if I write Lan Zhan, he'll definitely organize an effort to take care of it as quickly as possible, not try to deal with it alone. Besides, there's no glory in a nighthunt like this. No money or recognition. Most sects will overlook it.
[His smile turns wry and he wonders if Jin Ling is recalling when he and the other juniors had begun to realize after Yi city how partial the justice of the cultivation world could be. Smaller town problems were ignored so often and for so long, countless lives lost because a problem wasn't deemed important or lucrative enough. But with Lan Wangji as chief cultivator, he wouldn't allow that sort of thing to happen. Wei Wuxian's smile turns warm at the thought of his friend's righteousness and he busies himself beginning to eat as he considers the rest of Jin Ling's words.]
If you'd like Lanling Jin to deal with it, I won't write him. I know you wouldn't ignore this either.
no subject
That makes sense. Since that's without a doubt something that most will do. It doesn't make sense to me how they can ignore these issues just because it doesn't bring fame or fortune.
[ He does take a moment to understand what he means and Wei Wuxian isn't wrong. There is no glory for cleaning up something in a backwater town like this. It's peaceful and moves along at its own pace, but it's not a location that anyone will ideally Night Hunt, much less assist.
His thoughts regarding what happened after Yi City does bring him to think that way. He has matured pass something as silly as gaining money and recognition. After all the experiences he's faced leading them to where they are now, he can't help but feel a bit more concerned than he'd like. Huanguang Jun definitely would and will get it taken care of. In a way, Jin Ling really has a lot of respect for that person and his skills. There is no on in the Cultivation World much like him. Even so, Wei Wu Xian's form of justice is also .
At the same time, it seems like an issue that Jin Ling can handle with his sect too. It will maybe help build character for those who keeps doubting his abilities to do anything. However, it's not like he's looking for any sort of credit from this either. It's also weird that after all that yelling and screaming, they're having a pretty civil conversation. Jin Ling takes a moment to eat some more of the food before speaking. ]
Lanling will deal with it. I'll have someone take the message.
[ Experience is important. He might as well make the best of it given that he has some insight on the situation with Wei Wu Xian. ]
no subject
My thanks to you and to Lanling then. [Despite the switch to a more reverent tone that usually indicates teasing on his end, his words are sincere.] It may not bring anyone glory, but Lanling's interference will surely save the lives of any travelers who might stray into the forest.
[His sincere smile and expression slip back into something more playful then and he dips his head as he takes another few bites, amusement dancing in his eyes.]
And this way I don't have to deal with Lan Zhan yelling at me. [Well. Lan Wangji doesn't actually yell but.] You know, in his own Lan Zhan way. It's all in the eyes.
[He motions towards his own eyes, glaring at his tea and making his brow as stern as he can manage. The whole thing is ruined by the fact that he can't get his lips to stop twitching into a smile.]
no subject
I'm not doing it for your thanks or anyone else's for the matter. [ He seems a little taken back so the words come out a bit shaky as he looks down at his rice bowl. It seems more interesting than this conversation. When on earth did it get so serious all of sudden? He's not quite used to this. ]
It's important to maintain some balance. We can't have people getting hurt when I know what's going on...
[ He trails off. This is really weird, so weird that it's starting to show on his face. He just huffs at that reply. ]
It's not like you don't do anything that doesn't instigate that. I'm surprised how much patience he has dealing with you sometimes.
[ He's kind of back to being himself as he continues to clean up his bowl. Talking about these things normally, and casually-- he's really trying to adjust. After all, his entire image of Wei Wuxian changed overnight. Especially now that he's pretty much spent his entire day with him. Not that he hates it. It's just uncomfortable. After all, he was and still is his mother and uncle's family too. His way of handling and talking with Jin Ling is way different than the way Jiang Cheng is. ]
no subject
Hey, I'll have you know Lan Zhan thinks I am a delight. [Not that anyone including Wei Wuxian could possibly hope to explain why.]
And he really does have the patience of a saint. [Wei Wuxian sighs dramatically, resting his chin in one palm.] He used to be so easy to rile, you know? Did you know that when we met we ended up fighting on the rooftops of the Cloud Recesses? Now I can barely get him to blink no matter what ridiculous thing I do.
[Nor get him to falter no matter what kind of dirt their friendship drags Lan Wangji's reputation through. But that's a matter for another time that he doesn't want to think about now. He doesn't realize that his lips have pulled up into a soft smile again, eyes focused on the bowl in his hands as his thoughts turn to his friend.]
no subject
I honestly, don't see how or why for the matter. [ He replies back with snark. He doesn't understand why either. It just seems like they are two vastly different people and yet they get along almost insanely well. Either way, it's none of his business. He's just saying what's on his mind. ]
Huhhhh.... [ He almost drops his chop sticks. ] What?!
[ That entire two sentences makes him partially baffled. It's honestly really hard to believe that Huanguang Jun was easily riled and fought with Wei Wuxian. However, at the same time, it feels like Wei Wuxian probably started the fight. Either way, he's at a loss of words to hear that sort of information. ]
I can't believe what I'm hearing.
[ Really, he's pretty shocked. Still, it looks like the older man is in his own world now. Whatever, it's surprising to hear but at the same time, he can honestly see something like that happening... ]
no subject
Look, I know how everyone thinks Lan Zhan is. So calm and wise and-well, okay he is those things, but he's also a menace. Huge menace. Total troublemaker. Don't let that calm exterior fool you, Jin Ling.
no subject
For that response, Jin Ling chokes on his soup. It takes him a moment to catch his breath and he manages to squeeze out.
Menace-- troublemaker ?! Do you hear yourself? How can you say that about someone like that?
[ His entire image of Huanguang Jun is probably going to be shattered and he will find it even harder to look at the Chief Cultivator in the face at this point. Wei Wuxian! You're so shameless. ]
Sounds like you're describing yourself....
[ Mutter. mutter. ]
no subject
It's totally unfair!]
Listen up, Jin Ling. Lan Zhan is probably the best, wisest, and most righteous cultivator of our generation—friendship with me withstanding, I didn't say he was perfect after all. [He might be, if not for the one mistake he'd made in befriending Wei Wuxian, but he's not going to complain about that. He rather liked that particular flaw of Lan Zhan's.]
But that kind of goodness—the kind of righteous that Lan Zhan is is the kind of righteous that always, always causes trouble. Lan Zhan will stand up for what he believes in no matter what. He isn't going to sit there and politic or try to soothe egos to make people feel better about doing the right thing. He's going to do the right thing—the actual right thing, not just what benefits the great sects—the rest of the world be damned.
[And oh it's going to be so much fun to watch. The other sects really have no idea what they've done electing him chief cultivator and personally, Wei Wuxian can't wait to watch them realize that he won't play their games worth a damn. He snorts and reaches for his tea, grinning now in real amusement.]
Also, [He takes another drink, grin turning wicked] He's petty as hell. Just ask your uncle.
[Well.] Actually on second thought, don't do that. It'll end poorly.
no subject
...
[ Where the hell is this even going at this point? He knows they're friends given the kind of treatment that Wei Wuxian gets from Huanguang Jun, but at the same time, it's still something to wrap his head around. He feels like there's a lot of things he may have missed. Maybe that's why a lot of this is really shocking. ]
W-Well, I suppose that makes sense...
[ No not really but he kind of gets it. There's always that saying, "everything in moderation." Too much right can definitely cause trouble, same with a sense of justice. Then again, isn't the same to be said about the person that's throwing all this exaggerated information at him,t he same? Well, not exactly but he suppose Wei Wuxian has his own form of what is right. ]
Petty?! That Huanguang Jun Petty...?
[Yes, he repeated that. At this point, Jin Ling ceases to consume anything, lest he choke on it again as he stutters out. ] Why would I ask my uncle, and why would that end--
[ He stops. From what he recalls, his uncle really doesn't like Lan Wangji. Jiang Cheng always had a even nastier aura every time Lan Wangji was within his sight. Much as he was when Wei Wuxian was also in his line of sight. He shudders at the thought. Then again, he might just ask because at the very least he'd get a truthful answer from Jiang Cheng. Though, he can't imagine without consequences. He might get yelled at for asking a question, which will then lead to Wei Wuxian, and then-- okay he stops there. ]
Why suggest it knowing how he'll respond?
[ dead pan look. ]
Then again, how will I know you're not making some wild tale just to get a reaction out me?
no subject
Ah, no, I wasn't thinking, you really shouldn't ask him! he'll get mad about it for sure. [The thought of Jiang Cheng's reaction is enough to have amusement pulling at his lips again but he bites it back in an effort to not tempt Jin Ling further.
Full of good food and a sense of lightness, it's easy to forget about the stress of the day. It could almost feel like this was a planned nighthunting trip with Jin Ling, just the two of them spending time together. It warms him to imagine. He stands to clear their empty dishes and immediately regrets it, barely catching himself on the table as his leg buckles beneath him.
Ah. Right. Bad leg.]
Ah...that's going to be very annoying for a while.
no subject
When isn't he mad?
[ He mutters under his breath but he has a point. Either way, he lets that go because he doesn't want to anger Jiang Cheng at the moment. Jin Ling only nods his head, as he finishes off the rest of his meal for the evening.
